NASH: BATHROOM

2000 NARI Grand and National CoTY Award, Entire House

This bathroom remodel was part of the renovation by ALWARD CONSTRUCTION of a thoroughly dilapidated 1920's Spanish Mediterranean beauty. The completed remodel was featured in December 2002 Remodeling Magazine.

The bathroom was reconfigured to accommodate a two person open shower with two showerheads, one of which could also be used as a mobile spray. The floor is a yellow marble 12" x 12" tile. Changes include change in window locations and locations for the toilet. New period fixtures were used throughout. Design by Alward Construction.

NASH: DECK

2000 NARI Grand and National CoTY Award, Entire House

This creekside deck is part of the exterior landscape work for a complete remodel and renovation by ALWARD CONSTRUCTION of a lovely Spanish Mediterranean house featured in December 2002 Remodeling Magazine. The deck material is Trex, a synthetic material. The deck is in the hillside fire ordinance area of Berkeley and is therefore built to 1-hour fire resistance standards. This standard was achieved by Alward's creation of a unique exterior deck-wall consisting of gyp board sandwiched between cement board sheets. The railing is an open and inexpensive system using wire mesh, allowing visual access to the creek side flora and fauna.
