DAVIDS-KILLORY: ENTIRE HOUSE REMODEL
2003 NARI Grand and Region 7 CoTY AwardThe owners, both architects, were new to the Bay Area and wanted to introduce their flair for modern architecture by remodeling their own house. To do so they chose to work with ALWARD CONSTRUCTION. What transpired was the transformation of a deteriorated but beautifully sited two and one-half story box into an expression of their dreams. The project was complicated by the fact that the owners needed to live in the dwelling during its transformation.
This view from the back yard shows the aluminum bridge to the second floor. Looking down the bridge through the aluminum and glass entrance door carries the eye to a view of the San Francisco Bay. Metal cladding surrounds the bridge "landing". Red Oxide color is integral to the stucco. Weeding will commence shortly!
This Alward Construction project was featured by Home and Garden T.V. "before and after" show in 2003.
